We were in Civitavecchia for 1 night prior to our 20 night Holland America Cruise. The property is listed as 1 bedroom B&B with a shared bath but it should be listed as a 2 bedroom B&B with a shared bath.
We rode the train from FCO in Rome and arrived around noon in September. The directions to the B&B were a little difficult but we finally found the property and we were greeted by Adriano. It is about a 10 minute walk from the train station and mostly up hill. He carried our bags up to the apartment and showed us around. The B&B was immaculately clean and well appointed. There were 2 bedrooms that could be locked individually and a nice large bathroom with shower, toilet, bidet and washer. The bedrooms were decorated nicely and the neighborhood was a mix of residences and businesses. He explained everything and told us we had the place to ourselves that night. There was bottled water and coffee in the kitchen along with a small stove, microwave, TV and normal kitchen things. There was a little store across the street and a bank with an ATM also. We found plenty of restaurants nearby and we wandered around the city that evening feeling plenty safe walking after dark. There is a nice public beach there but we did not have time on this trip to partake.
Adriano made arrangements for us to be picked up the next morning by a shuttle to the ship. Adriano had to work at the cruise port so his father brought fresh breakfast for us the next morning and it was a pleasure to talk to him for several hours. His English was better than our Italian but we used Google Translate back and forth to talk with him.
Adriano sells the B&B as (2) one bedroom units with a shared bath but ideally it would be a 2 bedroom with 1 bath and very comfortable for a family of four and maybe a few small ones. The price was very reasonable.
We would definitely stay there again.
